Hi guys,

I was looking at this kurassier helmet and it makes me wonder why the high price though there are still 6 days left of bidding.

After looking at the pics, it occured to me that this could be a LACHMANN 15 Kurassier metalhelme.
A Lachmann made kurassier EM metalhaube was one of the most desirable/rare piece, it has a 90 degree angle rear visor/neck guard. And only Lachmann made such EM M15 metalhelmet, compare it with my non-Lachmann kurassier, it was made by Helbing u Sackelwitz, compare the degree of the rear lobster visor neck guard.

Interested? But I think this Lachmann will be pretty expensive.

Hope this helps, cheers.gif

Hi Musashi,
thanks for the info about this puppy. Do you believe that the liner is genuine ? The leather looks like new ! Why they are so rare ?
Thanks in advance !
All the best;

Hi Jerry,

Yes, you are right, the liner seems like a repro/fake, looks too new and looks kind of glued there.
As for the rarity of Lachmann, I belive only lachmann made such a 90 degree angled rear neck guard, as other makers such as CE Juncker etc made a 'more angled' rear neck guard, like mine.

And I belive, this is my opinion tho, since only Lachmann made such a helmet, and the pickelhaubes and iits variant were phased out in 1917 (am i right abt the year?), hence there are not many M15 with 90 degree rear neck guard kurassier helmet around. And usually, only an officer Kurassier/JzP metalhelme have those unique 90 degree thingy, and lachmann's are for EMs, hence its very unique and rare.

Hope this helps,

Hi guys,

The seller confirmed that the helmet has the 'lachmann berlin' makers mark inside.

I am curious abt the ending price, perhaps the liner is the downside of the helmet.

Hope this helps,
Mush
