Hello,
Here my felt erzats picklehaube, came without the liner but i liked the chinstrap and the kokades which were on the helmet for a long time as I can't remove the chinstrap from the helmet.
Hope you like it.
Thank you

What a wicked lid!! Shame about the liner but sure looks like it displays well. Thanks for showing...BTW....what is the name in the helmet? Ever figure it out?

That really is a fine example of an erstaz Pickelhaube heavily faked nowadays of course ,but yours looks superb .Rob.

Hi picklehaubes fans,
Thank you for your kind words. Glad you like it. Got it without the liner but the overall shape was good so decided to buy it. It was from Manion's 12 years ago.

Even without the liner, this is one of the nicer ersatz haubes I've seen in a while.Usually everything is lose and starting to seperate.
Congrats on a nice helmet.

Hi Phil,

Hmmm...You are so full of surprises, now lets see, you have a Saxon, Reserve Prussian rgt 25, a 1917 marked M15 Prussian haube, a numbered uberzug, now this....an ersatz felt/filz Prussian haube.
You should entered the MCF virtual military show, and I am very sure that you will get the 1st place in the imperial german section.
Thats a neat original felt haube you have there, and yes, you are right, the chinstrap is original to the body, it looks like its already stuck to the kokarden, kind of glued together,it has something to do with the time, I guess.
I love ersatz felt haube, they are so unique, and like Rob said, what a licked lid, indeed. And like Rob said, there is a company in England, I think, which made those faked felt, but I dont know what company it is, just got the info from 'hearsay'.
And you have this felt haube for 12 years??

Now, pls surprises us more with you other haubes! exct0006.gif

Cheers!

Hi Mush,
Always enouraging words, thank you.
Yes, got this one 12 years ago and I sold a felt one with gilt and brass garnitures to buy this one. A pity did not have enough money to keep the 1st and buy the 2nd.
There is a new one I will show in the next future,a very interesting one already posted on another forum but not a common helmet.

Hi Jim,
Glad you like this one. I stopped collecting picklehaubes 3 or 4 years ago to concentrate on the WW II helmets and uniforms (North Afrika campaign) but never decided myself to let them go and don't think I will ever.
Cheers from New Caledonia.
Phil.

Hi Phil,

You have an uncommon helmet, you said? What is it, is it also imperial german? Pls post it here.
You are in New Caledonia? Thats pretty far and a long way to have the haubes shipped there!I am sure you must be the only one collecting haubes in your region. And you seems to be a seasoned haubes collector with an impressive haubes collection.
Ah, yes, dont leave the haubes collecting behind 00009176.gif
