Hi guys,

check this out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/German-Waterloo-Bandau...1QQcmdZViewItem

Looks like a put together haube to me. The liner is private purchase, but the spike seems to short for officer's and worse still, the Waterloo wappen's crown is nt voided.

Not even a portepee NCOs or One Year Volunteer will fit into the catagory. Short spike with star studs?? NCOs and OYV dont use star studs, and the wappen is not voided?

And what an asking price!

Another prove that haubes are in great demand and so many people would do just abt anything to con others, in this case, a put together haube.

Hope this helps,
Mush

the fresh look of the overall item bothers me most. Waterloo is still nicely painted .
I know nothing of these but I wouldnt buy it.

What the other fellas think ?

That helmet seems to be sending mixed messages...an amalgamation that the seller is playing upon to make some extra bucks...in my opinion.

Hi guys,

Randy has the proper Hannoverian "waterloo" officer haubes, compare his with the crap on ebay.
The seller is indeed amalgated various haubes parts to make it a legit waterloo haubes and sell them for much more extra haubes.

http://ageofkingsmilitaria.com/Sell_4_Link9.htm

and by the way, the ebay waterloo doesnt even have the 'pearlings' on the spike neck, which is a must for every officer's haubes.

And after looking closely again, the ebay has a "CONVEX" chinscales, which is so very wrong. infantry only used flat chinscles, whereas the Cavalry and Feldarty used convex chinscales.

This ebay piece is a crap indeed, a put together haube.

Hope this helps,
Mush

Hi guys,

Well, no one is bidding for the waterloo haube, perhaps if he started the bid with a lower price, I belive those who bid will only go after the parts.

Compare the ebay one with Randy's waterloo.

of course, randy's asking for 2G, but at least we know where the money went to.

Cheers,,
Mush
