Hi guys,

There is this Bayern NCO haube for sale on Randy's ageofkingsmitaria site:

http://ageofkingsmilitaria.com/Sell_4_Link5.htm

Its an eigentums (private purchase) haube for NCO, hence its totally wrong to assume that all pvt purchase haubes are officers. One Year Volunteers had to purchase their own equipment, hence their haubes were private purchased, too.
It has a removable spike, most probably means that the haube belonged to a Rgt which was entitled to wear a haarbush (parade bush).

The most interesting is the kokarden actually, there have been lots of discussion abt the presence of the so called 'NCO kokarden' and its pretty confusing.
Its stated that the NCO kokarden has only 1 ring instead of the officer's double ring, but Randy's Bayern NCO haube has no ring at all.

Any comment?

Attached is Randy's NCO haube and my Bayern Officer haube, pls notice the kokarde.

Cheers,
Mush

it is not NCO. It is for a private to Sergeant. he can't say "NCO" as there is nothing to prove that. The rank is quite clear by those EM cockades. As per normal, kaiserbunker to the rescue with a good explanation. look at the "kokarde" link too. http://www.kaisersbunker.com/hp/rank.htm
