Here's my imperial Russian cap.

Jim, very nice and condition is a classy one for a thing with about a 100-year history.

The one and only thing I have never understood with these caps why the visor is so small, round and vertically sewn on...

I know on some period photos (expecially of officers) the visor is so small as to serve no purpose. I may be mistaken, but I think the small visor is more Victorian era, so maybe it was something not modified when Russian uniforms were updated? Just a guess.

Nice unissued mint condition hat with excellent stampings. Several of these hats were found in storage in Findland about 10 years ago.
