Hi,

a friend of mine has forwarded me this set of photos from a bavarian haube. He noticed that this haube has the same LG11 marking as my one.

http://www.militariacollecting.com/index.php?showtopic=14276

In the thread, which has been pinned above, we figured out that LG stands for Landgendarmerie and 11 must be the unit.

The question now is: How can the same Landgendarmerie marking appear on a prussian and also on a bavarian haube ??? BTW: I havenīt seen such a spike before.

This is a hard nut to crack. Any thoughts greatly appreciated !

Best;
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

Yes, you are right, its a tough nut! A bavarian with a reservist wappen, yet with a LG 11 marking! And it seems that there are no extra holes, too...

btw, the spike is DEFINATELY nt original hapy0003.gif

Hopefullu will be able to dig up more infos abt LG 11, perhaps its somethin like a national/reich unit instead of state units?

Cheers,
mush
