I am venturing out from steel helmets and am looking at buying my first pickelhaube.
I have the opportunity to buy a Bavarian officers haube with the cloth field cover and the carrying box.
I sort of have an idea what the helmet is worth, but how much extra should I pay for the cover and box?
Thanks.

My guess: if all (helmet, cover, & leather carry box) is in excellent original condition > price would be $3,000. plus.

Hi,
So sorry for the late reply, Rob is right, a MATCHING haube with cover and box could be very expensive, do you have any pics?

I bought it. It is legit, but I haven't taken any pics yet. I will try to snap some this weekend if there is decent light.

Sorry, the pictures aren't better. Maybe bright sunlight was a poor choice.

Hi,
Thats a very very nice Bavarian officer haube! Very very nice. and it comes with macthing uberzuga and the carrying case, very impressive.
And what you have there is the older version of the bavarian haube, its the pre 1896, these older bavarian haubes have larger and more detailed wappen plate, exactly like mine, i will try to post mine.
Is the chinscales flat? If yes, its most likely an infantry rgt, and pls post more detailed pics of yr marvelous haube.
is the spike removable?
Very impressive,
Mush
