Cool looking lid! That's for sure....It's not a style that I recognize but I'm not that knowledgeable in haubes....that being said - you should pm Musashi (correct spelling?) .... He's the resident p.haube expert!

Given some time, he'll come across this thread and should be able to help you! Best of luck!

Cheers!

Not endorsing them, but check out the Rittmeister for some picklehaube comparisons (and high dollar prices).

Best!

Hello Carey,

Check out this top quality website for pickelhaube information!!!

The condition isn't great to say the least of this officers pickelhaube.
The value of pickelhaube lays a lot in their condition specially for officer and one year volunteers examples.
Are there better pictures available on this pickelhaube, just to get a better idea of his condition.
This pickelhaube is a restoration project.

In my personal opinion and please read this as my personal opinion: the value of this piece lays in his scrap value.
This is the value for the parts that still are in good condition, such as the spike and the plate.
Restoring this pickelhaube would be more time and money consuming then finding and buying this type in perfect collectable condition.
Believe me the collectors of these type of officer pickelhaube are searching for top-quality condition examples.

Cheers,
Peter

Hello Carey,

This is how a prussian guard officers pickelhaube should look in good condition, the condition that the majority of collectors want it:
